Dead wood hazard in spring

Post Copy

Now that the leaves are coming back in, it's easier to spot dead branches you might have missed when the trees were bare. Dead wood doesn't just look bad — it becomes a safety hazard. A heavy branch can split and drop at any time, especially after wind or heavy rain.

Walk around your property this week and look up. Do you see branches without leaves while the rest of the tree is leafing out? Gray or brittle-looking limbs? That's usually dead wood that needs to come off before the season heats up and storms roll through.

Have you noticed any dead branches on your trees since spring arrived? Even a small dead limb over a deck, driveway, or yard where kids play is worth removing sooner rather than later.

Image / Media Suggestion

Close-up photo of dead branches (gray, bare wood visible against leafy growth on the same tree), or before/after of a pruning job where dead branches were removed. If available, show the contrast between dead limbs and healthy foliage on the same tree. Authentic job photos outperform stock images.
