Oak wilt is one of the most serious threats to San Antonio's live oaks, and it doesn't just affect one tree at a time. Live oaks often share interconnected root systems, so the disease can move from tree to tree underground long before it's visible above ground.
Our ISA-certified arborists look for the early signs: veinal necrosis on the leaves, sudden wilting starting at the top of the canopy, and premature leaf drop out of season. Catching it early matters because treatment options narrow considerably once the disease has spread through a root system.
Trenching to sever root connections and fungicide injections are both tools we use depending on how far the infection has progressed and how the trees on a property are connected. Every case gets diagnosed on its own, not treated with a one-size-fits-all approach.
