Crown Raising Lifts Low Limbs Clear of Piedmont Triad Driveways, Roofs, and Walkways

Post Copy

Crown raising removes the lowest limbs on a tree so driveways, roofs, and walkways across the Piedmont Triad stay clear without topping the tree.

The work starts with the tree's overall shape. Low limbs are removed selectively so the tree keeps enough foliage and a strong, balanced structure, and each cut is made just outside the branch collar so the wound closes cleanly. On young trees, the crown is raised gradually over several years instead of all at once.

The benefits reach beyond clearance. A lifted canopy lets more light reach lawns and garden beds, improves airflow that helps limit fungal problems, and opens up the view of the house from the street. Typical targets are about 8 feet of clearance over walkways and 14 feet over driveways used by trucks.

Spartan Tree Service & Landscaping provides crown raising and other trimming services in Kernersville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, and Clemmons.

A before/after pair showing low limbs over a driveway or front walk, then the same tree with the canopy lifted and clear space underneath. An in-progress shot of the Spartan crew making a pruning cut also works. Authentic job photos strongly preferred over stock.
