How Arborists Protect Trees During Active Construction Projects in Atlanta

Post Copy

Construction projects and mature trees don't always get along. Heavy equipment, grade changes, soil compaction, and root zone intrusion can cause serious damage to trees that look perfectly fine while the work is happening. The damage often doesn't show up until months later, and by then it can be difficult or impossible to reverse.

When our crew is involved in a project from the planning stage, we can put protective measures in place before the first piece of equipment rolls in. That might mean fencing off the critical root zone, advising on where machinery can and can't travel, or working with the project team to adjust grades and drainage in ways that protect the root system. We've done this kind of coordination on residential renovations, commercial builds, and municipal projects across Metro Atlanta.

The trees that matter most to homeowners and property managers are often the ones that took decades to reach their current size. Losing one to preventable construction damage is a real cost, and it doesn't have to happen with the right planning and professional oversight in place.

We've put together a full guide on this topic on our blog, link in the comments. If you have a construction project coming up and mature trees on the property, are you factoring tree protection into the planning stage?
