What Happens During a Tree Health Assessment in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach

Post Copy

Not every worrying tree needs to come down, and a tree health assessment is how you find out which ones do.

When Simpson Tree looks at a tree, we check it from the ground up: the root zone for heaving soil or rot, the trunk for cracks, cavities, and fungus, and the canopy for dead limbs, thin leaves, or weak branch unions. We also look at what's nearby, like your roof, driveway, fence, and power lines.

From there, you get a straight answer in plain language. Sometimes the fix is a good pruning. Sometimes it's keeping an eye on the tree for another season. And sometimes removal really is the safest option.

We've been doing this for homeowners across Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Suffolk since 1999, and we'd rather save a healthy tree than take down one that doesn't need to go.

A real photo from a Simpson Tree job showing a close look at a tree: bark, a trunk cavity, or a crew member examining the base of a large tree in a 757 yard. Keep individuals unnamed. Authentic job photos strongly preferred over stock.
