Law firms handle some of the most sensitive information any client will ever share, and that makes IT vendor selection higher stakes than most industries realize. Privileged communications, case files, and financial records all sit on the firm's network, which means a security gap isn't just an IT problem, it's a confidentiality and liability problem.
When we work with a growing firm, the conversation usually starts with a few direct questions. How is data encrypted, both stored and in transit? Who has administrative access to the firm's systems, and how is that access reviewed over time? What does the incident response plan actually look like if something does go wrong?
These aren't abstract questions. A firm that can answer them clearly, or partner with a provider who can, is in a fundamentally stronger position than one operating on assumptions about what their current setup actually does.
For referral partners and firm administrators: how confident are you that your current IT provider could answer those three questions today?
