Dead limbs are often the first branches to fail when freezing rain coats Metro East trees, which makes late fall a practical time for deadwood removal.
Deadwooding removes dead and dying branches from an otherwise healthy tree. Dead wood is brittle and cannot flex under ice or wind the way living wood does. Each limb is cut back at the branch collar so the tree can seal the wound naturally, and larger pieces are lowered under control to protect roofs, fences, and landscaping below.
As leaves come down, dead wood becomes easier to spot and the work moves faster without a full canopy in the way. Clearing it now removes a source of falling debris over walkways, play areas, and driveways before winter weather arrives. Healthy limbs are left in place, so the tree keeps its natural shape and shade.
Riverbend Outdoor Services provides tree trimming and pruning for homeowners in Godfrey, Alton, East Alton, Edwardsville, and throughout the Metro East.

A real in-progress photo of a climber or lift removing a dead limb from a large shade tree, or a close-up of a bare dead limb against a still-leafy canopy. A before/after of the same canopy would perform best. Authentic photos of real Riverbend crews and job sites are strongly preferred over stock images.
