Why Tree Branches Near Power Lines Are Never a DIY Job in the Upstate

Post Copy

Leaves are coming down across Greenville and Spartanburg, and with them comes a clearer view of every branch growing toward the wires. It is tempting to grab a pole saw and handle it yourself, but limbs near power lines are one job no homeowner should take on.

Electricity can jump from a line to a branch, and from the branch to a tool or a person, without anyone ever touching the wire. Wet wood and aluminum ladders make it worse. Lines running from the pole to your house are a different situation than the main lines along the street, and knowing which is which, and who is allowed to work near each, takes training most people never get.

For lines along the road, the utility is often the right call, and we can help you sort that out. For trees near the service drop to your home, our crews plan the work with proper clearance and safe practices from the very first cut. Safety on every job is something we never compromise on.

Do you have any trees on your property growing up into the power lines running to your house?

A photo of a tree growing toward residential service lines on an Upstate property, or crew members working with proper equipment and clearance near (but safely away from) lines. Avoid any image showing unsafe work. Authentic job photos from real crews and real properties strongly preferred over stock images.
