Mature trees are one of the first things buyers notice when they pull up to a home in Greenville or Greer. Healthy shade trees add curb appeal, but a dead limb over the roof or a tree leaning toward the driveway can show up in an inspection report and become a negotiating point. Many sellers don't learn about a tree problem until a buyer's inspector or insurance company points it out.
A look from a Certified Arborist before listing can catch the issues buyers worry about most: deadwood over the house, limbs rubbing shingles, roots lifting a driveway, or decay at the base of a trunk. Some fixes are as simple as a prune that makes the house more visible from the street. Others, like removing a declining tree near the home, are easier to handle on your own schedule than in the middle of a closing.
A clean, healthy canopy also photographs better for the listing. If you've bought or sold a home in the Upstate, did trees ever come up during the inspection or negotiation?
