Oak wilt is one of the most serious tree diseases affecting oaks in South Carolina, and spring is when it spreads most aggressively. If you have oak trees on your property, you need to know what to look for.
Early signs include wilting leaves that start at the top of the tree, discolored veins, and brown streaking under the bark. If caught early, surgical pruning can often save the tree. Waiting too long means losing the entire tree.
