Early June is when emerald ash borer adults start emerging in Minnesota, and that makes this one of the most important times of year to take a close look at the ash trees on your property. The Brainerd Lakes area has ash trees throughout residential and lakeshore properties, and EAB damage can spread fast once it takes hold.
Signs to watch for: thinning or dying branches at the top of the tree, S-shaped tunnels under the bark, small D-shaped exit holes in the trunk, and increased woodpecker activity on the tree. By the time the damage is visible from the ground, the tree is often already in serious decline.
If you've got ash trees and you're not sure what you're looking at, give us a call. We'll come out, take a look, and give you an honest assessment of where things stand. Sometimes treatment is still an option; other times removal is the safer path. We'll tell you what we actually see, not just what costs more.

Authentic photo of an ash tree removal or trimming job in the area, or a close-up shot showing visible EAB damage (exit holes, bark damage, declining canopy). A before/after of an ash tree removal would also perform well. Real job photos are far more trustworthy than stock images for this type of educational post.
