What do NARI credentials like CR and CKBR actually mean for your remodeling project?

Post Copy

When you see CR, CKBR, or CLC listed after a contractor's name, those are nationally recognized certifications from NARI, not self-awarded titles.

A Certified Remodeler (CR) has demonstrated broad expertise in project management, contracts, financial management, business operations, and technical knowledge. A Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) has passed a rigorous exam specific to kitchen and bath renovation. A Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC) has shown expertise in on-site project supervision and technical execution.

These credentials require documented experience, an exam, and ongoing continuing education to maintain. Hiring a certified remodeler doesn't eliminate the need to ask questions, but it does tell you something meaningful about the contractor's investment in their own professional development.

When you've hired a contractor in the past, did their credentials or certifications factor into your decision? What mattered most to you? #Remodeling #AtlantaHomeImprovement
