Cooler evenings across Cobb and Cherokee County mean one thing at our counter: fire pit builds. From simple welded steel rings to full backyard fire tables, this is the time of year a lot of Northwest Atlanta homeowners and fabricators start cutting metal for nights outside.
The material choice matters more than it looks. Thin sheet warps and burns through quickly under repeated fires, so most builders step up to heavier plate or thick-wall pipe for the fire ring itself. Mild steel is the common pick because it's affordable, easy to weld, and weathers to a natural patina. Stainless holds its looks longer but costs more. And galvanized steel should never go anywhere the flames touch it, because heating the zinc coating releases harmful fumes.
Our Marietta team can help you settle on thickness and cut plate, sheet, or pipe to your dimensions, with no minimum order, so a one-off backyard build gets the same attention as a shop order.
Are you building a fire pit this fall, and are you going round, square, or something completely custom?
