Oak wilt is one of the most destructive tree diseases in North Texas, and it spreads most aggressively in late spring and summer when sap beetles are active and moving between trees.
Live oaks are especially vulnerable, showing browning that starts at the leaf tips and margins. Red oaks and post oaks can decline and die rapidly, sometimes losing their entire canopy within weeks of first symptoms. The disease also spreads underground through connected root systems between trees in close proximity.
If your property has oaks and you have noticed unusual browning, early leaf drop, or a tree that looks like it declined quickly, an early assessment is the most effective response. Mercer Tree Service serves North Richland Hills, Fort Worth, Keller, Colleyville, Southlake, and the broader Tarrant County area. #TarrantCounty #OakWilt #TreeHealth #NorthRichlandHills #FortWorth
