A Recent Amagansett Job: Balancing a Neighbor's Sightline With a Healthy Tree

Post Copy

Not every tree dispute needs to end with a tree coming down.

A recent job in Amagansett involved a large, healthy shade tree that a neighboring property felt was blocking a water view. Rather than defaulting straight to removal, our crew assessed the tree's structure and worked with the homeowner on a selective pruning plan that opened up the sightline in question while keeping the tree's canopy full and healthy overall.

The result solved the concern without sacrificing decades of growth or the shade and privacy the tree still provides. It is a reminder that pruning, done thoughtfully, can often resolve the same issue a removal would, at a fraction of the cost and without an irreversible decision.

Every property on the East End is different, and so is every tree on it. Taking the time to find the right solution, not just the fastest one, is part of doing this work well.

A before/after shot of the canopy showing the opened sightline while keeping the tree intact would tell this story clearly. A wide shot of the property showing the improved view is also a strong option.
