Summer heat stress in South Jersey trees

Post Copy

Early summer heat puts real stress on trees throughout South Jersey, and the signs are easy to miss until damage has already progressed.

Watch for wilting or curling leaves that don't recover overnight, premature leaf drop, thinning sections in what used to be a full canopy, and bark cracking on sun-exposed sides of the trunk. These aren't cosmetic issues. Heat stress weakens a tree's defenses against insects and disease, often leading to larger problems later in the season.

Greg Smith Tree Service serves Gloucester County, Franklinville, Vineland, Sewell, Sicklerville, Williamstown, Elmer, and Bridgeton. A professional assessment can tell you whether what you're seeing is seasonal stress or something more serious. #GloucesterCounty #TreeHealth #SouthJersey #SummerTrees #NJTrees
