A large eucalyptus in an Oakland backyard had a long history of dropping limbs without warning, a trait the species is known for, and this one had grown close enough to the house to worry the homeowner every time the wind picked up.
An inspection found extensive internal decay near the base, likely from years of limb drop wounds that never fully closed over. Combined with the tree's height and proximity to the roofline, removal was the only responsible option.
The crew took the tree down in carefully rigged sections to protect the house, a fence, and a neighboring garden below. The job wrapped in a single day with the yard left clean and the risk gone for good.
