When a pool, room addition, or new driveway is planned right where a healthy tree stands, most people assume the tree has to go. Sometimes it does. But for the right tree, relocation is a real option, and it can keep years of growth and shade on your property instead of sending them to the chipper.
Relocation starts with an honest assessment. Species, size, health, and root structure all determine whether a tree is a good candidate, and so does the new site. We look at soil, irrigation, sun exposure, and access for equipment before recommending a move. Timing matters too: the cooler months ahead are generally easier on a tree than a Bakersfield summer.
Moving large trees is familiar territory for us. Running a wholesale large tree nursery means handling big, boxed specimens is part of everyday work, and that experience carries over when we move a tree for a homeowner or commercial client. Aftercare, especially watering through the first seasons, is a key part of the plan.
Is there a tree on your property you'd hate to lose if you ever redid the yard?
