Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Can Still Save Healthy Ash Trees Across Williamson County

Post Copy

Emerald ash borer has been working its way through Middle Tennessee for years, and ash trees in Franklin, Brentwood, and across Williamson County are still in its path. The beetle's larvae tunnel under the bark and cut off the tree's ability to move water and nutrients. Once an ash is badly infested, removal is usually the only safe option.

The good news is that a healthy ash doesn't have to be lost. Emerald Ash Borer Treatment, applied on a regular schedule, protects trees that are still in good condition and preserves mature shade that would take decades to replace. The key is catching it while most of the canopy is still full.

As leaves drop this fall, it is a good moment to take stock. Thinning at the top of the crown, D-shaped exit holes in the bark, woodpecker damage, or sprouts along the lower trunk can all point to EAB. Our ISA Certified Arborist can confirm whether a tree is an ash, judge whether it is a good treatment candidate, and plan protection for the right application window.

Do you know whether any of the trees on your property are ash, and have you noticed thinning at the top of them? #EmeraldAshBorer #FranklinTN
