Mature, Well-Kept Trees Are Part of What Buyers Notice First on a Brentwood or Green Hills Listing

Post Copy

When a home goes on the market in Brentwood, Green Hills, or downtown Franklin, the first photo buyers see almost always includes the trees. A healthy, well-shaped oak framing the front walk tells a buyer the property has been cared for. A tree with dead limbs, branches dragging on the roof, or a crowded, overgrown canopy raises questions before anyone steps inside.

Mature trees are one of the few parts of a property that cannot be added quickly. That makes them valuable, but only when they read as an asset instead of a project. Home inspectors and buyers' agents often note overhanging limbs, deadwood, and trees close to the foundation, and those notes can turn into negotiation points late in a sale.

If you are thinking about listing in the coming months, a little care now goes a long way. Clearing deadwood, lifting limbs off the roofline, and opening up the canopy so light reaches the lawn all help the property photograph and show at its best. Our ISA Certified Arborist can also point out anything an inspector is likely to flag, so there are no surprises later.

When you bought your home, did the trees on the property play a part in your decision?
