A lot of the mature trees in Franklin's older neighborhoods were planted long before anyone thought about roof lines, gutters, or driveway clearance. Decades later, low limbs are scraping shingles or brushing the roof of a car pulling in.
Crown raising removes the lower branches while keeping the tree's overall shape and health intact. Done well, it opens up clearance without leaving the tree looking lopsided or over-thinned at the top.
It's a more precise job than it sounds. Taking off too much too fast can stress a mature tree, so we work in stages when a tree needs significant clearance, watching how it responds along the way.
