Most people have heard of an ISA Certified Arborist. Fewer know about the ISA Tree Risk Assessor credential, and why it matters when you have a tree that concerns you.
A Tree Risk Assessment is a formal, structured evaluation of a specific tree's likelihood of failure and the consequences if failure occurs. It examines root health, structural defects, canopy load, soil conditions, and target zones: what's directly below the tree if it does come down. This is a documented risk rating, not just a general inspection.
It's not the same as a standard arborist visit. In some cases, the assessment is also relevant to insurance and property liability conversations.
Franklin Tree Service has an ISA Tree Risk Assessor on staff. If you have a tree you're uncertain about, whether because of how it's leaning, what's near it, or a gut feeling that something isn't right, a risk assessment gives you an objective answer you can act on.
Have you ever had a tree on your property that made you genuinely uncertain about whether it was safe?
