Cabling and Support: Saving Mature Trees with Structural Problems

Post Copy

Not every tree with a problem needs to be removed. Sometimes the best solution is strategic support that lets the tree live on for years, even decades.

Tree cabling and bracing is a technique where we install high-strength steel cables and support rods to stabilize weak branch unions, leaning trunks, or trees that split during storms. It's surprisingly effective and costs far less than removal and replacement. The cables are virtually invisible once installed, and they distribute stress away from weak points.

This is especially valuable for mature trees with sentimental value or those that provide significant shade and privacy to your property. We've saved countless heritage oaks, maples, and dogwoods in Franklin and Belle Meade using this approach. It works best when the tree is otherwise healthy and you catch the problem early.

Do you have any older, larger trees on your property that you'd love to keep but worry about their structural integrity? That might be a perfect candidate for cabling. #TreeCare #FranklinTN

Image / Media Suggestion

Before and after photos of a mature tree that was cabled, showing the problem (split, lean, or weak branch) and the corrected tree. Real job photos with crew members installing cables show the professionalism and expertise involved. If available, a photo of the "before" damage and the restored tree's new strength is ideal.
