Spring is the perfect time to refresh mulch around your trees and shrubs. Fresh mulch does a lot of heavy lifting: it regulates soil temperature, locks in moisture during dry spells, suppresses weeds, and gradually breaks down to improve soil quality.
The key is proper depth and placement. Too much mulch piled against the trunk creates a welcome mat for pests and disease. We get it right: 3 to 4 inches deep, pulled back a few inches from the trunk, creating a clean, healthy root zone.
Whether you have a few shrub beds or a large property, fresh spring mulch sets your landscape up for a healthy, stress-free growing season. Have you refreshed your mulch this spring yet, or is it on your to-do list?
