How to Tell If a Tree Needs Trimming or Full Removal

Post Copy

Not every problem tree in a Brevard County yard needs to come down. Knowing the difference between a tree that needs trimming and one that's beyond saving can save a homeowner from an unnecessary removal, or from waiting too long on one that's actually needed.

Trees with isolated deadwood, a few crossing branches, or canopy that's grown too dense are usually good candidates for trimming. The structure is sound, the tree is otherwise healthy, and pruning solves the problem.

Trees that lean noticeably, show fungus at the base, have hollow or cracked trunks, or have lost significant root support after storms are different. These issues affect the tree's structural integrity, and trimming alone won't fix them.

An on-site evaluation from an ISA certified arborist gives homeowners a straight answer either way, backed by an actual look at the tree's condition. East Coast Arbor Pro evaluates trees throughout Palm Bay and Brevard County.
