Late August through October marks the most active stretch of hurricane season, and South Florida's trees carry more risk during this window than any other time of year.
Canopy that's grown dense over the summer catches more wind, and branches that have been quietly weakening since spring are far more likely to fail once a storm brings sustained gusts. Trees planted close to a roofline or power line are the biggest liability during this stretch, especially older growth that hasn't had a trim recently.
Thinning a canopy now, removing deadwood, and addressing any tree with visible lean or root exposure gives a property real protection before the next storm system moves through West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Wellington, or the surrounding area.
Prepping before a storm is always faster and less expensive than responding after one.
