Felling a tree in one piece only works when there is a clear, open landing zone. On most properties in Towson, York, or New Freedom, a large tree stands near a house, a garage, a fence, or a neighbor's yard, so we take it down in sections instead.
Sectional removal means a climber works from the top down, cutting manageable pieces and lowering each one on a rigging line to the ground crew. Heavy wood is controlled all the way down, which protects roofs, gutters, gardens, and lawns underneath. Once the tree is down, the wood is cut, chipped, or hauled away, and stump grinding can follow if you want the space back completely.
It takes more planning than a simple fell, and that planning is where experience shows. Before the first cut, we look at the lean, the condition of the wood, where every piece will land, and what needs protecting. A good removal should leave the property looking like nothing heavy ever came through.
Is there a large tree close to your house that you have wondered how anyone would ever take down?
