Summer heat stress on Houston trees: signs to watch for now

Post Copy

Houston summers are hard on trees, especially the ones we stop paying attention to.

Heat stress and drought conditions affect tree health in ways that often don't become visible until fall, or the following spring when a tree doesn't leaf out the way it should. By then, significant damage may have already been done in the root system.

A few signs to watch for over the coming weeks: wilting or curling leaves, premature leaf drop, scorching at the leaf edges, bark cracks, or dieback at the branch tips. None of these are automatic emergencies, but all of them are worth noting and having a certified arborist assess before they become something more serious.

Our team serves properties across Houston, River Oaks, Memorial, The Woodlands, Klein, Spring, Meyerland, and Tomball. Free estimates available.

Have you noticed any of these signs on the trees on your property so far this summer?
