Seasonal: Summer Heat Stress and Storm Season

Post Copy

Houston summers don't give trees much of a break.

Between the heat, humidity, and storm season ramping up, June is one of the most stressful months for the trees in your yard. Heat stress can show up as early leaf drop, wilting foliage during midday, or branches that seem to die back for no obvious reason. And in our area, summer storms can expose structural weaknesses that weren't visible before the weather turned.

The good news: a lot of what looks alarming from the outside is manageable with the right care at the right time. A certified arborist can tell the difference between a tree that needs support and one that needs to come down before the next big storm arrives.

Have you noticed any changes in your trees this spring? Any branches that didn't leaf out, or spots that look different from last year?

Image / Media Suggestion

Authentic job photo showing summer work, ideally an in-progress shot of the crew addressing a heat-stressed or storm-damaged tree. A before/after of a summer removal or trim would be ideal. Avoid stock images of generic summer landscapes.
