Houston Storm Season Starts Now — Assess Your Trees Before the First Major Storm

Post Copy

Houston's storm season runs June through November, and the Houston area sees some of the most intense severe weather in the country. That window is almost here, and the single most important thing you can do for your property right now is assess your trees before the first storm hits, not after.

Certain species and structural conditions carry elevated risk in high winds. Older live oaks and soft-wooded trees with previous storm damage are worth a close look. Co-dominant leaders, where a trunk splits into two trunks of equal size, create splitting risk under load. Trees growing toward your home, garage, fence line, or power service are the ones where a failure becomes an emergency.

When storms do hit Houston, Champions responds fast. Our teams are ready for emergency work across Greater Houston, from River Oaks to Tomball. But the goal is always to identify the risk while there's still time to address it safely, on your schedule, not in the middle of a crisis.

Have you had a tree inspected heading into storm season, or is there one on your property you've been keeping an eye on? We'd love to hear what you're dealing with.

Image / Media Suggestion

Authentic job photo preferred: a large tree near a Houston home being assessed or pruned ahead of storm season. A photo showing co-dominant leaders or structural work in progress would be especially relevant. If no job photo is available, a dramatic sky-and-canopy shot of a Houston neighborhood works well.
