Summer Heat Coming: What Your Trees Need Before the Temperature Climbs

Post Copy

Houston heat is coming. By June, temperatures will push well over 90 degrees, and your trees will be working overtime to stay healthy. The time to prepare is right now, in late spring, when your trees are actively growing.

Proper watering before peak summer significantly increases your trees' ability to handle heat stress. New trees especially need consistent moisture during their first two years. Mulching around the base (about 3 inches deep) helps retain moisture and keeps roots cooler. And if your tree's canopy is dense, thinning selected branches can improve air circulation without compromising the tree's health.

Our certified arborists can assess your property and create a summer survival plan. Have you noticed any of your trees looking stressed or wilting in the afternoon heat?
