If a storm or removal left a gap in your yard, fall is the best time of year to plant its replacement in Tampa Bay.
Cooler temperatures mean less heat stress on a young tree, and roots keep growing through our mild winter while the canopy rests. By the time summer heat returns, a fall-planted tree has months of root growth behind it.
Species choice matters. Southern live oak, sabal palm, bald cypress, and Southern magnolia handle local soils and wind far better than fast growers that tend to fail young. Placement matters too: away from the house, driveway, and overhead lines, with room for the full canopy.
Our dry season starts in fall, so new trees need regular deep watering until established. Canopy Crafters plants with the right depth, mulch ring, and a clear watering plan so every new tree gets a strong start in Lutz, Odessa, and Wesley Chapel.
