Cabling and bracing can help preserve a valued tree in metro Atlanta when its structure is weak but its wood is still sound. Large co-dominant stems and heavy limbs over a home are common candidates. Many of these trees provide decades of shade and do not need to come down if their weak points are supported.
Cabling installs steel or synthetic support systems high in the canopy to limit how far stems and limbs move in wind. Bracing uses threaded rods through weak unions to keep them from spreading. Installed to industry standards, these systems share the load so weak points are less likely to fail. The hardware is sized and positioned for each tree's structure rather than applied as a one-size-fits-all fix.
Boutte Tree's ISA Certified Arborists evaluate every tree before installing hardware, because support systems cannot fix advanced decay. Fall installation gives trees added support ahead of winter wind and ice, and systems should be inspected periodically as the tree grows.

A real photo from a Boutte Tree job showing cabling hardware installed high in a mature canopy, or a climber installing a cable or brace rod in a co-dominant oak. A close-up of the installed hardware works well as a second image. Authentic job photos strongly outperform stock images.
