An early snow on trees that still have their leaves adds far more weight than most branches are built to carry.
Most years, Treasure Valley trees drop their leaves before the first snow. When snow arrives early, maples, ash, and ornamental pears in full canopy catch and hold wet snow, and even healthy limbs can bend or split.
After an early storm, gently brush snow from lower branches you can reach safely, pushing upward instead of shaking the limb. Stay clear of anything hanging over driveways, sidewalks, or power lines, and leave broken limbs up high to a professional crew. Snow-bent branches often spring back on their own once the load melts off.
Good structure is the best protection. ArborSafe's ISA Certified Arborists recommend light, targeted fall pruning for trees with weak branch unions or long, heavy limbs over a roof. #TreasureValley #TreeCare #BoiseIdaho #WinterTreeCare
Real photo of a Treasure Valley tree with snow on leaves still in canopy, or a job photo of a crew removing a snow-broken limb. A clean branded graphic with the "brush up, don't shake" tip also works. Authentic ArborSafe job photos are strongly preferred over stock.
