A branch union that includes bark instead of solid wood grain is weaker than it looks from the ground. Add a gust of wind and the extra weight of summer foliage, and that union can split or drop the limb entirely.
A pre-storm inspection catches these weak unions before a storm makes the decision for you. Our crew looks specifically for included bark, co-dominant stems, and any limb that's grown too heavy for its attachment point.
