Spring growth is starting in the Treasure Valley, and it's the perfect window to get your trees shaped and healthy before they leaf out full. The key: prune when trees are still mostly dormant, before the main flush of new growth. This way, trees heal faster and you see exactly what needs attention.
A few basics: never top a tree, don't use wound dressing (trees handle it better on their own), and avoid removing more than 25 percent of the canopy at once. Of course, if your tree is large or complex, let professionals handle it. We're ISA-certified for a reason.
