A split ash tree in Severance had survived one hailstorm, but a second round of high wind pushed the crack wide enough to make the whole canopy unstable.
The tree was leaning toward the roofline, and the split ran deep enough into the trunk that cabling wasn't a safe long-term option. Our crew worked with a crane to remove the canopy in controlled sections, keeping the load away from the house and a nearby fence throughout the job.
Once the tree was down and the stump ground out, the property had a clean, open yard again with no lingering risk hanging over the roof. The homeowner had been watching the crack widen for weeks before calling, which is more common than people think.
