Many of the live oaks shading St. Augustine's older neighborhoods were growing long before the homes beneath them, and their limbs often end up resting over rooftops, porches, and gutters.
Canopy reduction is a targeted pruning approach that shortens select limbs back to healthy growth points instead of removing whole branches. It takes weight and wind resistance off the side facing the roof while keeping the natural shape and shade that make these oaks worth protecting. Done correctly, it also lets more light and air reach the lawn and plantings underneath.
Our crew works around historic homes, tight lots, and neighboring properties throughout St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, and St. Johns County. We plan each cut from the ground first, protect the landscaping below, and leave the yard as clean as we found it. Removing weight over the roof now also means less debris on shingles and in gutters through the coming storm seasons.
No trimming job is too big or too small for our family-owned team.

An authentic before/after pair of a live oak canopy reduction over a home, ideally showing clearance gained above a roofline or porch. A mid-job shot of a climber working a long limb over a roof also works well. Real job photos outperform stock images of oaks.
