After a hospital stay, many families hear "home health is coming" and assume all the help at home is taken care of. Then the visits turn out to be short, a nurse or therapist for about an hour a few times a week, and they end once recovery goals are met.
Home health is skilled, doctor-ordered care focused on things like wound care and physical therapy. Private duty home care, which is what Advantage provides, covers the hours in between: bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders, help moving around safely, and companionship. It's arranged by the family, can start quickly, and continues for as long as it's needed.
The two work well side by side. Our state-verified CNAs often support clients during and after a home health episode, so there's no gap when the skilled visits wind down. Our FAQ explains more, and the link is in the comments.
