Coming home after a knee replacement, hip surgery, or cardiac procedure is a relief, but the first couple of weeks can be harder than anyone expects. Getting in and out of bed, showering, and walking to the kitchen all take more effort, and family members can't always take that much time off work.
That's where short-term surgery recovery care fits. An Advantage CNA can help with safe transfers and walking, bathing and dressing, meals, medication reminders, and keeping the home clear of trip hazards while mobility comes back. Care can start the day a client gets home and taper off as strength returns, in shifts of four hours or more.
Our RN supervisor builds each recovery plan around the surgeon's discharge instructions and adjusts it as needs change, and our caregivers watch for small changes worth passing along to the care team. For many families, a few weeks of support means their loved one can recover in their own bed instead of a facility.
If you or a family member has recovered from surgery at home, what helped most in those first few days? #HomeCare
Warm photo of a caregiver walking alongside a client using a walker in a bright home hallway, or helping with a seated activity at a kitchen table. Hands-and-activity framing works well when faces cannot be shown. Authentic photos of the Advantage team are strongly preferred; if using stock, choose warm, candid, diverse imagery. No client photos without written consent.
