Why the Owner's Personal History Still Shapes Advantage's Clinical Standards

Post Copy

Daniel Levy, Advantage's owner and president, experienced a near-fatal injury at 19, an experience that shaped how he thinks about care, dependency, and dignity long before he entered the home care industry.

When he acquired Advantage in 2014, that history translated into concrete operational decisions rather than just a mission statement: W-2 employment for every caregiver instead of a contractor model, an RN supervisor involved in every care plan, and background screening that goes beyond the state minimum.

For referral partners, the backstory matters less than the outcomes it produces, but the two are connected. An owner who has personally experienced dependency on caregivers tends to build an organization that treats caregiver quality as non-negotiable rather than a cost to minimize.

What role does an agency's leadership and founding story play in how you evaluate a potential referral partner?
