When families first reach out to us, one of the most common questions we hear is: "What exactly will this person do when they're in my parent's home?" It's a fair question, and it deserves a real answer.
At Advantage, our caregivers are state-verified CNAs, which means they've completed a formal certification program through Georgia's Department of Community Health. During a standard 4-hour shift, a CNA might assist with bathing and personal hygiene, help with dressing and grooming, provide mobility support (moving safely from bed to a chair, navigating steps), prepare a meal, give medication reminders, do light housekeeping around the client's living area, and simply be present as a steady, familiar companion.
That last one matters more than people expect. For many of our clients, the CNA who shows up three mornings a week becomes one of the most consistent and trusted people in their lives. That relationship, built over weeks and months with the same caregiver, is part of what we mean when we say we treat clients like members of our own family.
Every care plan at Advantage is built around what the individual client actually needs, so no two shifts look exactly the same. But the commitment to showing up, being prepared, and genuinely caring about the person they're with, that part is consistent across every one of our caregivers. What quality matters most to you when thinking about who you'd trust in a parent's home? #HomeCare #SeniorCare
