Southern Pine Beetle Pressure Climbing in North Georgia: What to Watch for in June

Post Copy

Your pines may be under attack, and it happens fast.

Southern Pine Beetle pressure is rising across North Georgia this June. These tiny beetles bore through bark, cut off water and nutrients, and can kill a mature pine in weeks. By the time the needles turn red, the window to save the tree is often already closed.

Watch for small pitch tubes on the bark (yellowish resin blobs), fine reddish-brown boring dust at the base, and fading or yellowing needles on otherwise healthy-looking trees. If you see these signs, don’t wait.

Image / Media Suggestion

A close-up photo of pine bark showing pitch tubes or boring dust, or a split-frame showing healthy pine needles versus browning/fading needles. Authentic field photos from a real job site will perform significantly better than stock imagery. A crew member inspecting a pine trunk is also a strong option.
